Our Story

A reputation built on academic strength and genuine care for every pupil

Hampton School is a private English-medium school in Mauritius where pupils learn to work hard, think clearly, and grow with confidence.

From the beginning, our aim has been straightforward: provide a quality, international-based curriculum in a structured, results-oriented environment. Our teachers deliver the material with care and precision. Our pupils respond with effort and curiosity.

The result is a school where academic achievement and personal development are treated with equal seriousness. Hampton pupils regularly attain a 100% pass rate in the national Certificate of Primary Education examinations. The majority go on to gain admission into the top state secondary colleges across Mauritius.

What Sets Hampton Apart

Three principles that define the Hampton approach

Every decision we make, from classroom instruction to pastoral care, is guided by a clear set of priorities.

Academic Excellence

A structured curriculum, regular assessment, careful correction, and consistent revision. We set clear standards and support every pupil in meeting them. The results speak for themselves.

Character & Confidence

We believe education is about more than examination results. Our pupils learn to be inquisitive, resilient, polite, and self-assured. These qualities stay with them long after they leave.

Individual Attention

Our student body is diverse, drawn from local Mauritian families and expatriate communities. We value each pupil for their unique qualities and work to ensure everyone finds an area in which they excel.

Academic Results

A record of consistent achievement

Hampton pupils are well prepared when they reach the end of Class 6. Our programme ensures they have the knowledge, discipline, and confidence to perform under examination conditions.

Hampton School pupils regularly achieve a 100% passing rate when taking the Certificate of Primary Education examinations. More importantly, the majority gain admission into the most selective state secondary colleges across Mauritius.

These results are not accidental. They come from a structured programme of teaching, homework, correction, revision, and careful preparation. Every year, our teachers set clear expectations and work with each pupil to help them meet those standards.

The Hampton Journey

A clear path from early years to secondary school readiness

Most children join Hampton in Daycare and progress through each department with continuity, familiarity, and growing confidence.

Daycare

18 months – 3 years

A safe, caring environment where children begin their journey in English. Structured routines, early learning, and a gentle introduction to school life. Explore Daycare.

Pre-Primary

3 – 5 years

A British-style early years programme that builds early literacy, numeracy, and social confidence. Children learn through play, stories, songs, and structured activities. Explore Pre-Primary.

Primary

5 – 11 years

A broad academic curriculum with strong results. Pupils develop independence, critical thinking, and the skills needed for secondary school. Explore Primary.

Beyond the Classroom

Preparing pupils for life, not just examinations

We know that producing pupils who perform well in exams is not enough. The world asks more of them than that.

At Hampton, pupils are encouraged to be inquisitive, resilient, and open to change. They participate in national events, perform on television and radio, compete against older pupils, and speak with public figures. These experiences build a confidence that classroom instruction alone cannot create.

We expect high standards of behaviour, founded on self-discipline and responsibility. All relationships at Hampton stem from mutual respect combined with genuine concern for others. Our pupils leave with the self-assurance and practical skills required to build successful, fulfilling lives.
