Sports Day 2026: The Race Wasn’t Over Yet

Rain may have brought our day at Bambous Stadium to an early end, but Hampton Sports Day 2026 still had a champion to crown.

There are few days in the Hampton calendar quite like Sports Day.

On 17th July, Bambous Stadium was alive with House colours, cheering and plenty of friendly rivalry as our pupils took to the track and gave it everything they had.

The occasion became even more memorable when we were honoured by a visit from His Excellency Mr Dharambeer Gokhool, President of the Republic of Mauritius. His presence, encouragement and words of support meant a great deal to our pupils, staff and the many Hampton families sharing the day with us.

And then the weather changed the script.

The rain arrived, the programme was cut short and eventually there was no choice but to call an early end to proceedings.

Sports Day was over.

Except it wasn’t.

There was still a 2026 House champion to crown.

So, on the final day of term, the competition resumed — this time back at Hampton. Pupils at our Quatre Bornes and Curepipe campuses had their chance to race for their Houses, with those results then added to everything already earned at Bambous Stadium.

And suddenly, Sports Day was wide open again.

When every race had finally been run and every result combined, 🔵 Bentham finished fourth. 🟡 Lupton and 🔴 Ruskin shared second place.

Which left one House at the top.

🟢 Oakley. 🏆

Our defending champions had done it again, retaining their crown and becoming Hampton School Sports Day champions for 2026.

Of course, Sports Day is never only about who lifts the trophy. Across both parts of this year’s competition, our pupils showed determination, teamwork, courage and tremendous sportsmanship — whether they were racing for first place or cheering a friend home.

The weather may have interrupted Sports Day 2026.

It didn’t get the final word.

Father’s Day at Hampton School
Term 2 22 June 2026

Father’s Day at Hampton School

Pupils across our Quatre Bornes and Curepipe campuses created handmade crafts and thoughtful gifts to celebrate the special father figures in their lives.

Father’s Day was celebrated with so much love at Hampton School 💚💛

Across our Quatre Bornes and Curepipe campuses, pupils created beautiful handmade crafts and thoughtful little gifts for their fathers, grandfathers, guardians and father figures.

These simple classroom activities carried an important message. Learning is not only about books, lessons and examinations. It is also about gratitude, creativity, kindness and learning how to express love for the people who care for us.

Our pupils were very proud of what they made. Each card, drawing and gift was prepared with care, giving them a lovely opportunity to pause and say thank you in their own special way.

At Hampton School Mauritius, we believe these moments matter. They help children grow not only academically, but emotionally too.

We wish a very Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful dads and father figures in our Hampton family. Thank you for the love, patience and encouragement you give every day.

Pupils Visit the Metro Express Depot
Term 2 19 June 2026

Pupils Visit the Metro Express Depot

Pre-Primary and Primary pupils enjoyed an educational visit to the Metro Express depot, where they learned more about the metro train and how it works.

Our Pre-Primary and Primary pupils enjoyed a special educational visit to the Metro Express depot 🚆

During the visit, pupils were given a guided tour and had the opportunity to see the metro train up close. They learned more about how the Metro Express works, how passengers travel safely, and the important role public transport plays in Mauritius.

For our younger pupils, it was an exciting chance to connect classroom learning with the real world. They were curious, enthusiastic and full of questions throughout the visit.

At Hampton School Mauritius, we believe that children learn best when they are given meaningful experiences beyond the classroom. Educational field trips such as this help pupils observe, ask questions and understand the world around them in a practical and memorable way.

We would like to thank the Metro Express team for welcoming our pupils and making the visit such an enjoyable learning experience.

Hampton Pupils Take Part in International Day of Yoga Celebrations

More than 200 Hampton pupils across our Curepipe and Quatre Bornes campuses took part in special yoga sessions celebrating wellness, balance and concentration.

Hampton School was delighted to welcome India in Mauritius, the High Commission of India in Port Louis, and IGCIC - ICCR in Mauritius for special yoga sessions held as part of the celebrations leading up to the 12th International Day of Yoga 🧘

The sessions took place at our Curepipe campus on 8th June 2026 and our Quatre Bornes campus on 11th June 2026, with more than 200 pupils taking part across both schools.

Our pupils were introduced to simple yoga practices designed to support physical fitness, flexibility, balance, concentration and overall well-being. The sessions included fun movement activities, balancing exercises and age-appropriate yoga practices, which kept the children engaged and excited throughout 💚

At our Curepipe campus, the session was led by Ms. Tanya Gupta, Teacher of Indian Culture and Yoga at IGCIC. Pupils were organised into different groups to ensure the activities were suitable for their ages.

At Hampton School Mauritius, we believe children benefit from experiences that support both the body and the mind. This special yoga initiative gave our pupils a meaningful opportunity to learn about wellness, focus and healthy habits in an enjoyable and practical way.

We thank India in Mauritius, the High Commission of India in Port Louis, IGCIC - ICCR in Mauritius, and Ms. Tanya Gupta for bringing this wonderful learning experience to our pupils ✨

Honouring the Heart of the Family: Mother’s Day at Hampton School
Term 2 31 May 2026

Honouring the Heart of the Family: Mother’s Day at Hampton School

A heartfelt celebration of the mothers, grandmothers, guardians and mother figures who play such an important role in every child’s journey.

Some lessons are taught with pencils.

Others are taught with love.

For Mother’s Day, our pupils created beautiful handmade crafts to honour the mothers, grandmothers, guardians and mother figures in our Hampton family 🌸

These were not just art activities. They were small expressions of gratitude, care and appreciation.

At Hampton School Mauritius, we understand that families are at the heart of every child’s journey. A child’s first teacher is often not found in a classroom, but at home — offering comfort, patience, encouragement and unconditional support.

By celebrating Mother’s Day, our pupils had the opportunity to pause, reflect and say thank you in their own special way.

In a world that often moves too quickly, these gentle moments matter. They help children grow not only academically, but emotionally too.

And that is what a great school should do.
